Dr. Yamila Goenaga is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in the prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancer as well as inflammatory skin diseases, such as psoriasis and acne. Dr. Goenaga, also board-certified in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine, is experienced in complex medical dermatology as well as pediatric dermatology. Dr. Goenaga is fluent in Spanish and her formal education and training include:

Dr. Goenaga has delivered over thirty publications and presentations and has participated in a myriad of research experiences during her time as an undergraduate researcher and sub-investigator. Her memberships include the Medical Dermatology Society (MDS), the Society for Pediatric Dermatology (SPD), the Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS), the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), the American Academy of Physicians (AAP), and the American Medical Association (AMA). Dr. Goenaga has contributed much of her time and efforts to service and clinical experiences, including the University District Hospital in Puerto Rico and medical missions to Haiti and Cuba. She has been recognized with the University of Maryland Neuroscience and Cognitive Science (NACS) Investigator Award for Undergraduate Clinical Research and Graduate Research, as well as placing second at the Internal Medicine Annual Research Forum.
In her spare time, Dr. Goenaga enjoys reading history books and fiction novels, going to the beach, scuba diving, hiking, and cycling outdoors.
